assistance for san diego /  north county veteran homeowners

“We are looking for a few veteran homeowners”

Veterans 360, Habitat for Humanity and The Home Depot Foundation wants to support local veteran homeowners in need of critical house repair.

If you know any veterans (honorably discharged, single income below $45K and family income between $51K/$69K) we want to hear from them. We are especially interested in offering refurbishment/repair services to veterans who need enhancements to their homes due to warrior disability or increased family size. With up to $15,000 in materials the range of work can be quite substantial.

For more information please visit this website. There are a limited amount of awards and they are strictly first come, first qualified, first “served”. VR Rick J. Collins Co-Founder & Executive Director Veterans 360 Office: 858.461.4946 Cell: 949.933.5142

Dear Members and Associates,

It is a pleasure to serve as President of the Chapter 472 for the new term. I do appreciate all the support and kindness of my fellow comrade in arms. You can rest assure that I will do my best with the support of the Officers and Board to continue the work we set out to do.

The Massing of the Colors is this Saturday, May 4. We will meet at the VMMC at eight am for some practice, coffee and some donuts. We will walk over to the Organ Pavilion for the 10 am practice and ceremonies that will include about forty other Color Guards from around the County. Do come over as the Vietnam Veteran is being honored. It is a very colorful event and a beautiful day is predicted for the 11 am start.

Memorial Day Observed will be held beginning with the Candlelight Vigil on Saturday, May 25th at 7 pm. A dinner will be served in the main chapel with the vigil following. This of course follows the entire Saturday of the Reading of the Names. On Sunday, VVSD will do the honors on the reading of the names. Memorial Day Observed will be held on Monday, May 27, beginning with the Color Guard entry at 9am. We look forward to a good turnout.

The Chapter will present two scholarships to two worthy children and grand children of Vietnam Veterans on May 18, our next meeting. A light lunch and refreshment will be served and we look forward to seeing our members in this the beginning of an administration that will concentrate on Grants that will benefit the Chapter's endeavors in assisting our veterans from all eras.
Do check out us at vva472.org. There were 20,000 hits on the site in March. A new record. Again, thank you for your service and Welcome Home. A list of all Officers, Board and those in charge of the various Committees will be distributed for your information.

Sincerely, Sal Pellerito
